Expanding Connections Between Japanese Enterprises and DragonIZ Ha Tinh
The field survey provided the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) with practical insights to introduce DragonIZ Ha Tinh to Japanese businesses seeking investment opportunities in Vietnam.
On the afternoon of September 8, as part of a working visit to Ha Tinh, a delegation from the JETRO Hanoi Office, led by Chief Representative Ozasa Haruhiko, conducted an on-site survey and tour of the Gia Lach Industrial Zone Expansion Project (DragonIZ Ha Tinh) in Nghi Xuan District.
The delegation was joined by leaders from the Ha Tinh Department of Foreign Affairs and the Ha Tinh Economic Zone Management Board.
During the survey at DragonIZ Ha Tinh, the project investor briefed the delegation on the master plan, infrastructure construction progress, transport and logistics connectivity advantages, support services, and strategies for attracting secondary investors.
DragonIZ Ha Tinh spans an area of 194.36 hectares with a total investment capital of over VND 2,265 billion, invested by Thang Long Import Export Investment Joint Stock Company (DragonGroup). According to the master plan, 66% of the total land area is allocated for industrial manufacturing and warehousing, while the remaining space is designated for transportation, technical infrastructure, green spaces, water bodies, and auxiliary facilities.
The project's key highlight lies in its orientation toward building a green and smart industrial zone, where manufacturing infrastructure is comprehensively developed to meet stringent environmental protection requirements.
The project aims to utilize clean energy, promote resource efficiency, and invest in wastewater collection and treatment systems, while progressively incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
The investor also plans to implement a "one-stop shop" service, supporting enterprises through every stage-from completing legal procedures and plant construction to workforce recruitment and operational commissioning.
To date, nearly 40% of the project's total workload has been completed, with construction being accelerated across various items, including transportation infrastructure, drainage, wastewater treatment, and fire prevention and fighting systems.
Following the survey, Mr. Ozasa Haruhiko noted that DragonIZ Ha Tinh possesses strong advantages to reach Japanese enterprises, ranging from its strategic location and available land bank to its synchronized infrastructure investment and comprehensive investor support services.
The Chief Representative of JETRO Hanoi showed particular interest in the orientation toward developing a green, smart industrial zone and applying ESG principles at DragonIZ Ha Tinh. These elements align well with the growing demands of Japanese businesses regarding environmental standards, energy efficiency, and sustainable supply chain development.
According to Mr. Ozasa Haruhiko, the direct site visit provided the delegation with specific insights into the project's planning, progress, and capacity to meet investor requirements at DragonIZ Ha Tinh. This will serve as a concrete basis for JETRO to introduce the project to Japanese companies operating in suitable manufacturing sectors with matching land requirements and development goals.
JETRO affirmed its readiness to support the promotion of local potential and strengthen connections to bring Japanese businesses to explore investment opportunities in Ha Tinh. Completing infrastructure on schedule, identifying priority sectors, and ensuring environmental standards will contribute to enhancing DragonIZ Ha Tinh's capacity to attract secondary investors.
The survey not only gave JETRO first-hand insights into the project but also opened up an additional bridging channel between DragonIZ Ha Tinh and the Japanese business community, aiming to attract projects focused on modern technology, green manufacturing, and sustainable development.
