Potential and Advantages

Ha Tinh is affirming its position as one of the most dynamic, safe and attractive investment destinations in Vietnam.

1. Outstanding economic growth

The economy of Ha Tinh currently ranks among the largest in the North Central region. In 2025, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reached VND 120,811 billion, up 8.78% against the previous year and ranking 10th nationwide. Notably, in the first six months of 2026, the province’s GRDP grew by 12.79% – the highest growth rate in the country – while the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose sharply by 32.83% year on year.

2. High-quality human resources

The province has an abundant labour force of approximately 546,532 people aged 15 and over. More than 80% of workers have received vocational training, of whom 32.5% held degrees or certificates in 2025, with a target of 50% by 2030. With one university, four colleges and six vocational secondary schools, Ha Tinh trains over 20,000 skilled workers every year.

3. A destination for multinational corporations

To date, the province is home to more than 9,000 enterprises and over 1,442 domestic and foreign investment projects with a total registered capital of over VND 435,380 billion, equivalent to nearly USD 18.9 billion. Ha Tinh ranks 9th nationwide in attracting foreign investment, with 71 FDI projects worth nearly USD 16.5 billion in total.

4. Convenient transport connectivity

North–South connectivity is provided by National Highway 1A, the Ho Chi Minh Road, the railway and sea routes; connectivity with the Lao PDR and Thailand is provided by National Highways 8 and 12. Ha Tinh does not yet have its own airport, but two national airports are located at either end of the province – Vinh Airport and Dong Hoi Airport – both within 45 to 55 minutes’ drive.

5. Outstanding potential for tourism and services

Marine and eco-tourism: Ha Tinh possesses a long coastline with many beautiful beaches such as Thien Cam, Xuan Thanh, Loc Ha, Thach Hai, Ky Xuan, Hai Ninh and Hoanh Son, together with rich forest and lake ecosystems in Vu Quang National Park and Ke Go Nature Reserve. These create ample room for investment in coastal resorts, holiday destinations and eco-tourism. In particular, the heritage of the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac, valuable medicinal herb resources and the Son Kim hot mineral springs provide favourable conditions for developing wellness, resort and healing tourism products with a distinctive local identity.

Ke Go Lake

Cultural, spiritual and historical tourism: Ha Tinh is a land rich in cultural traditions, religious beliefs and revolutionary history, with more than 1,000 relic sites, of which 698 have been officially ranked (2 special national sites, 92 national sites and 604 provincial sites). The province is home to heritage elements inscribed by UNESCO on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity – Ca Tru singing and Vi and Giam folk songs of Nghe Tinh – as well as documentary heritage inscribed in the Memory of the World Register: the woodblocks of Phuc Giang School, the Hoang Hoa Su Trinh Do (Envoy’s Journey to China map) and the Han–Nom documents of Truong Luu village.

Ceremonial singing

As the homeland of many cultural celebrities, patriotic scholars and revolutionary heroes, Ha Tinh preserves numerous historical relics of special value, which have become “red addresses” for traditional education and commemorative journeys. Prominent among them are the Dong Loc Junction Relic Site, the Memorial Site of the great poet Nguyen Du, the memorial sites of General Secretaries Tran Phu and Ha Huy Tap, and the Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac Relic Site, which together form tourism products of great historical and humanistic value.

From Ha Tinh, visitors can also extend their journey to many well-known destinations across the North Central region and Central Vietnam. Within a short travelling time, they can visit the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh in Nghe An, explore beautiful northern coastal sites such as Do Son and Ha Long, or head south to Phong Nha – Ke Bang, Hue, Quang Nam, Da Nang and Hoi An – leading cultural and tourism centres of the country.
